Booster Meeting Notes - 9/16/2021

Coaches Report:

Varsity –

• Dawg Duals will be held on December 11th at Hampton High School. There are currently 13 teams committed, shooting to have 16. The cost will be $350 per team. We will need volunteers from the Jr. High and Youth programs.

Jr. High –

• In search of an Assistant Coach

JO Program –

• Ed Barry has been named Head Coach of the JO Program.

• Jesse Mytinger & Zach West will be assisting. Still need to check with Craig Rowlands.

• JO practices will begin November 1, 6:30-8:00. Need to reach out to Bridgette Gibbons for Athletic FUA form for use of the gym.

• No issues with COVID in the 2020-2021 season

• Match nights are still being discussed. Some Tournament dates are set:

  • 12/11 &12/12 - Mars

  • 12/18 - North Allegheny Young Guns

  • 12/19 - North Allegheny Novice

  • 1/9 - North Hills

  • 1/16 - North Allegheny 1st and 3rd year

  • 3/13 - Mars

• Emma Bursick Memorial Tournament is TBD. Possible date 12/4.

Fundraising:

• Talbot Tailgate - October 1. Volunteers needed to set up, work and tear down. Also need cases of water donated. We will be selling candy apples and apple cider. Chances to "sumo" wrestle.

• Night at the Races is tentatively scheduled for 11/13.

  • We need Chinese Auction baskets

  • Table Sponsorships

  • Food/Catering options

  • Volunteers

• Stromboli will be sold again this year

• Sarris Candy – open around Thanksgiving and keep open through the season

• Stack'd - You Eat. We Give - 20% of the proceeds...

• GPSA Store – open early and keep open? Give parents a chance to order. Gretchen needs to call Kathy.

Discussion Items:

• Team sponsorship - looking for businesses to sponsor the program.

• Signs - signs are available to promote registration.

Current Volunteer Opportunities:

• 11/13 - Night at the Races

• 12/11 - Dawg Duals
